Local comedy argument-settlers the Bracket Brothers are holding a fundraising show for Easy Luck Coffee this week.
Milk District caffeine mainstay Easy Luck moved out of their longtime South Street space in the beginning of August; they’re currently in the process of moving into a new home inside the Phat Ash space in Milk Stacks on Bumby Avenue. Staff will operate a pick-up window purveying their usual menu of caffeinated goodness and snacks.
Easy Luck previously estimated an Aug. 10 opening in the new space, but the team says they’re not quite ready.
So on Thursday night downtown, the Bracket Brothers are turning this latest edition of their Saks Comedy Lab residency into a fundraising show to defray Easy Luck’s moving costs.
The Bracket Brothers host live and very interactive comedy-as-debates at Saks Comedy Lab downtown. Previous topics have included Halloween Horror Nights and local haunts, while guests have included the local all-star tandem of Anna and Ida Eskamani.
Thursday’s event features two separate shows debating (as a homage to the Easy Luck menu) all things beverage and baked good — “from bagels to baguettes, coffee to cocktails, sodas to smoothies” — like a madcap March Madness bracket. Guest include July Snyder, Sarah Drew, Jordan Keyes, Adam Scharf and Ryan Muthiora; as well as Easy Luck baristas Alan, Jamie and Tanner; and Rep. Maxwell Frost.
