A Gorham resident filed a police report this week after he said an unidentified teenager threw liquid that appeared to be urine at him on the bridge on Route 202 that connects Gorham and Windham.
Drew Tardif, 35, said he was leaning over on the side of the bridge on Monday afternoon to photograph fish in the Presumpscot River when he heard a young male voice yell out from a passing car and felt a liquid, which he said he suspects was urine based on its smell, splash on his leg.
Tardif said the car was a black sedan and there were at least two teenagers inside who continued driving north into Windham. He was unable to record a license plate number.
Windham Patrol Services Capt. Jason Burke said the Windham Police Department is not investigating the incident because it does not have a license plate number to track, a description of the individuals in the car or evidence that the liquid was urine.
“It seems to always start with little things like randomly shouting threats at people, then spitting on people, then throwing things at people, then a worse act and a worse act and a worse act,” Tardif wrote in a message to the Portland Press Herald.
Tardif said he did not immediately report the incident to police because he thought they would not help him, but reported it later that evening after being encouraged in a local Facebook group.
