The iconic night markets of Asia have a rich history dating back nearly 1,500 years to China’s Tang Dynasty. The lively gatherings have since been replicated all across Southeast Asia, and, in recent years, made their way to Orlando, where night markets have lured throngs of hungry revelers to Festival Park, East End Market and Edoboy’s parking lot.
At Mills Market, the food hub has been staging wildly popular night markets since May 2025, to the point where James Beard-nominated restaurateurs Johnny and Jimmy Tung felt a permanent venue was needed.
Enter the old Little Saigon space. The Mills 50 mainstay, joined at the hip to Mills Market, closed last year after nearly 40 years of the serving the community allowing owners Vu Nguyen and Mai Huynh to retire. The Tungs took over the space and have since used it to conduct the Lucky Lunar Night Market in February, the AAPI Night Market in May and, last month, the Summer Luau Night Market.
Come early next year, however, it’ll be rebranded as the Mills Night Market featuring multiple new concepts, a cocktail bar and mahjong parlor.
“The idea behind Mills Night Market was to create the yin to the yang of Mills Market,” says Johnny Tung. “We wanted to keep the same familiar setting and footprint, but shift the energy.”
Tung says that seven yet-to-be-revealed food concepts will be housed inside the sizable space, including a bar serving craft cocktails, Japanese whiskys and an extensive sake selection.
The most intriguing feature of the night market, however, will be The Mahjong Parlor, an intimate and hidden room where guests can play the tile-based game while sipping themed cocktails and nibbling light bites.
Tung says Mills Night Market will be accessible via an entrance from Mills Market and will stay open until 2 a.m. “During the day, Mills Market is a buzzing place to grab a bite and shop around. At night, Mills Night Market next door will offer a more relaxed, immersive and vibey experience, creating a completely different atmosphere while still feeling connected to the Mills Market experience.”
