Rehabbing Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony was 2 for 2 with a home run and two RBI to help the Portland Sea Dogs beat the Reading Fightin Phils 7-5 on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field in Portland.
Anthony, who has been on the injured list since May 7 with a finger injury, walked in the first inning, singled in the third, hit a two-run home run in the fifth and walked again in the seventh. He was replaced by pinch runner Ahbram Liendo.
Jack Winnay had an RBI single in the first and Henry Godbout hit a solo home run in the fourth to give Portland a 2-0 lead. Anthony made it a four-run lead and Brooks Brannon followed with an RBI single to make it 5-0.
Raylin Heredia hit a two-run home run and Carson DeMartini a solo shot in the sixth for Reading. Brannon walked with the bases loaded and Winnay scored on a fielder’s choice in the seventh to push Portland’s lead back to four.
Heredia added a two-run single in the ninth for the Fightin Phils.
