Justin Gonzalez hit his first Double-A home run to help the Portland Sea Dogs beat the Reading Fightin Phils 6-4 on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field in Portland.
Gonzalez, the No. 2 prospect in the Red Sox system, made his Double-A debut Monday night and went 2 for 5. On Wednesday, he led off the bottom of the first with a homer to right-center .
Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony, who made his first rehab appearances with the Sea Dogs on Tuesday night, did not play Wednesday.
Henry Godbout hit a two-run home run in the first to give Portland a 3-0 lead, and Tyler McDonough added a three-run shot in the fifth.
Pedro Leon hit an RBI triple and Wuilfredo Antunez a solo home run for Reading.
