The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to Northborough police.
An 11-year-old boy riding his bicycle collided with a police cruiser in Northborough, local police said.
Shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a reports of a motor vehicle crash involving a juvenile riding his bicycle at the intersection of Main and River streets, the Northborough Police Department said in a press release.
The police cruiser was exiting a parking lot on Main Street “when the cruiser and bicycle collided,” police said.
The 11-year-old boy, who was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash, was transported by emergency personnel to an area hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.
“The officer was transported to an area hospital by Northborough Fire out of an abundance of caution,” police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to the department.
