Wahoo’s Fish Taco, the Southern California-born spot that once had six locations in the Las Vegas Valley, has closed one of its stores here after almost 15 years.
The shop at 1000 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 21, in Boca Park, shuttered in late July, according to an Instagram post, which indicates the lease had ended.
“We are incredibly grateful to the amazing guests who have supported our Boca Park location over the years,” the post reads. “The friendships, memories and aloha spirit we’ve shared with this community will always mean a lot to us.”
Other stores remain open
The Boca Park Wahoo’s opened in March 2012, following the debut of the original valley franchise on West Sunset Road in October 2011. A third store launched in 2013 on West Horizon Ridge Parkway in Henderson. The Sunset and Horizon Ridge restaurants remain open, as do Wahoo’s in Centennial Hills, on West Flamingo Road near the Palms and on South Eastern Avenue in Henderson.
Three brothers launched Wahoo’s in 1988 in Costa Mesa, California. The menu, with a side of surf vibe, features tacos, enchiladas, sandwiches, burritos and bowls built with choice of protein (tofu, crisp fish, chicken breast, carnitas) or premium protein (shrimp, salmon, wild-caught fish, carne asada) or a Banzai vegetable mix (bell peppers, onions, zucchini, broccoli, mushrooms and cabbage sautéed in teriyaki sauce).
