Honolulu Fire Department personnel guided a pair of hikers to safety today after they had become lost on the Makaua Hidden Valley Trail in Kaaawa.
Six HFD units, staffed with a total of 17 personnel were dispatched to the trail at 11:48 a.m., with the first unit arriving at 11:54 a.m. Rescuers headed up the trail on foot and by 12:39 p.m. had located the uninjured hikers, a male and female in their 20s, according to an HFD news release.
The pair reported they had been hiking for approximately four hours and were unable to find the return trail. HFD crews escorted them out on foot.
