Greely (1-0) at Leavitt (1-0), 7 p.m. Thursday
This 2025 Class C title game rematch is easily the best game this week, and given that it could also be one of the best games all season, it’s fitting that it gets Thursday night all to itself. Greely has won 21 consecutive games, with its last loss coming in Week 1 of 2024 to Camden Hills. Luke Piper might be the best quarterback in the state, and the senior and 2025 Varsity Maine All-State pick leads a team that is deep up and down the roster. Leavitt is battling to get back on top of Class C after failing to win the crown in 2024 and 2025, and the Hornets have their own standout QB in junior Landon Marquis, who threw for four touchdowns in the opener against Medomak Valley. The winner of this clash in Turner can stake its claim as the team to beat in Class C.
Winthrop (1-0) at Freeport (1-0), 7 p.m. Friday
Class D South might be the most competitive region in Maine high school football this year, and the Ramblers and Falcons are at the forefront. Defending state champion Winthrop/Monmouth/Hall-Dale started slow against Lisbon in Week 1 but found its groove in the second half, with Carter Rand and Tristyan Ortiz thriving in the run game. Ramblers coach Joel Stoneton said the status of another standout running back, Ross Fichthorn, is to be determined after the senior left the opener early because of an injury. Freeport, meanwhile, returns virtually its entire roster from what was a junior-heavy team in 2025, including a pair of standouts in QB Andrew Thomas and lineman Ethan Binekey. The Falcons will enter the matchup confident after downing Mattanawcook Academy 42-6 in Week 1.

Bonny Eagle (1-0) at Noble (1-0), 7 p.m. Friday
Perhaps Bonny Eagle was not as imposing as anticipated in its 21-14 Week 1 victory over South Portland, but the Scots are still one of the best teams in the state. Receiver Drew Gervais is one of the state’s best all-around athletes, if not the best, and Bonny Eagle boasts an extraordinarily beefy offensive line anchored by seniors Corbin Richard (6-foot-3, 325 pounds), Logan Varney (6-4, 295) and Landon Richards (6-2, 260). It should be a tough battle in the trenches between that group and Noble’s defensive line, which also has good size with junior Pele Petelo and senior Jase Pata, both of whom are pushing 260. The Knights, who represented Maine well in a 30-22 Week 1 win over Dover, New Hampshire, will look to test the Bonny Eagle secondary with one of Class A’s top quarterbacks in senior Mark LaPointe.
