The Metallica after-parties will be rife with even more Metallica.
Vaunted tribute band Damage Inc. is set to play Voltaire at The Venetian on Oct. 9, 10,16 and 17. Doors open at 11 p.m. General admission tickets start at $35 (intel at voltairelv.com).
For these shows, the gorgeous venue that is home to Queen of Burlesque Dita Von Teese’s residency production will be transformed into a hard-rock hang.
Formed in 2004, Damage Inc. is reportedly a favorite of Metallica itself. The tribute band is known for its rote, high-energy covers of the rock legends’ robust catalog.
Vocalist and rhythm guitarist Chris Knight is known to channel James Hetfield. Knight’s brother and co-founder, Kevin Knight, fills Robert Trujillo’s bass lines, Chris Brightwell takes on Kirk Hammett’s lead guitar and Danny Almanza slams out Lars Ulrich’s drum parts.
The Southern California-based band has played more than 450 shows across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. the name is derived from the last track on “Master of Puppets.”
Concert nights are Oct. 10 and 17. But the venue stays open on Oct. 9 and 16, as the Voltaire team states “to keep the adrenaline pumping between performance nights.”
This place rocks
The Copa Room at Tuscany Suites hosts recurring “Metallica Sphere After Party” shows during the band’s Vegas run. The venue is entering its second year of presenting rock shows, toggling with the venerable “Rat Pack is Back” production.
The Metallica-inspired series lifts off at 10 p.m. Thursday with no-cover Madman — The Ozzy Experience. Same times Friday, its the duel tributes Superbeast (Rob Zombie) and ACSS (Marilyn Manson), a $7.18 charge, exactly. At 9:30 p.m. Saturday, enliven your experience with metal powerhouses Pretty Boy Floyd and Cyanide. That’s a $12.51 cover.
