Wellness Blood Profiles: Marshall Health Network is offering low-cost wellness blood profiles that can be used to help understand a person’s general health. The profile includes 29 different tests, such as glucose, cholesterol and calcium, and is available for $25. Additional tests are available, with the purchase of a blood profile, for hemoglobin A1C, Vitamin B12, a Urinalysis and thyroid-stimulating hormone at an additional cost of $10 per test. A Vitamin D test, Progesterone, Estradiol, Thyroid Panel or Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test can also be added to the profile for an additional $15. Lab work should be performed while fasting. Vascular Screenings: Screenings are available for peripheral vascular disease, carotid artery and abdominal aortic aneurysm. The cost is $45 for each test or $99 for all three tests. Cash, check or credit cards are accepted. Screenings are by appointment only. Vascular Lab, St. Mary’s Regional Heart Institute, first floor, Monday-Friday (except holidays). CT Coronary Calcium Scan: Coronary calcium scoring is a low-dose CT scan that provides non-invasive screening of the coronary arteries for calcium deposits. People who should consider the test include those with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, high levels of stress or a strong family history of heart disease. Screening cost is $79 and is by appointment only. Monday-Friday (except holidays). COPD Community Screening Program: Community members experiencing shortness of breath, a chronic cough or other respiratory symptoms are encouraged to schedule a simple spirometry screening. Screenings are available by appointment. Most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, cover the cost. St. Mary’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation, 2900 First Ave., Huntington. Free Foot Screenings: Free screenings include an exam, health education and giveaways for people with foot-related concerns or those having difficulty caring for them. Better Breather’s Club: This free support group helps members learn better ways to cope with lung conditions such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, and asthma while getting the support of others in similar situations. Breast Cancer Support Group: This support group meets the second Thursday of each month and is for patients with breast cancer, breast cancer survivors and their loved ones. Perinatal Bereavement Support Group: This group meets the second Thursday of each month and is dedicated to supporting parents who have experienced the loss of a child due to miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss. Marshall Medical Outreach: Marshall Medical Outreach (MMO) is a student-led free mobile health clinic that takes place one Saturday each month in downtown Huntington, West Virginia. MMO provides free medical care to the homeless, unemployed and those at risk for homelessness in our city. Huntington City Mission, 1012 7th Ave., Huntington from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Senior Health Fair at Huntington Mall: Community members can connect with Marshall Health Network experts for senior health information and free screenings. The event will also feature the Ageless in Bloom fashion show, highlighting models age 50 and older, at 1 p.m. Huntington Mall from noon to 2 p.m.

Rivers Health Cancer Support Group: We invite patients, families and friends to join a free monthly support group hosted by the Marshall Rural Psychiatry Residency Program. Facilitated by trained psychiatry residents, the group is designed to help participants navigate some of the challenges a cancer diagnosis can bring. Light refreshments will be provided. Breastfeeding 101: Techniques for successful breastfeeding are taught by a certified lactation consultant during this free, virtual class.
