SoulBelly BBQ of downtown Las Vegas opens on the Strip

A lauded barbecue restaurant, a stalwart of downtown Las Vegas dining grit and cool, is bringing the smoke to the Strip.

SoulBelly BBQ, opened by chef-owner and “Chopped” champion Bruce Kalman in 2021, launched Friday in the Miracle Mile Food Court at Planet Hollywood, the restaurant announced Friday.

”Expanding SoulBelly BBQ to the Las Vegas Strip is a major milestone for us. It’s an opportunity to share our BBQ with even more people and celebrate how far we’ve come since our opening in 2021,” Kalman said in the announcement. “We’re honored to join the lineup at Miracle Mile Shops and look forward to what’s ahead.”

On the menu

The menu features SoulBelly barbecue standards and sandwiches, among them a Texas Cheesesteak layering sliced brisket, provolone, peppers and onions; The Boss Hog made with Carolina-style pulled pork; and the Brisket Burnt Ends Grilled Cheese. Shareable snacks, sides and banana pudding soft serve help round out the menu.

SoulBelly joins seven other concepts at the food hall, including Carnegie Pizza (pies in New York and other styles), Irv’s Burgers (L.A. burger staple), Lobster ME (lobster tacos, lobster rolls and other seafood), and Tacotarian (vegan tacos). Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

In 2024, Texas Monthly, an influential barometer of barbecue quality, named the original SoulBelly on South Main Street as one of the top Texas-style barbecue spots outside the Lone Star State. That same year, SoulBelly made the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s list of Top 100 Restaurants in Las Vegas. Visit miraclemileshopslv.com and soulbellybbq.com.
