BUFFALO, N.Y. — Local comic book artist Nick Daniels has won a grant from the Rochester
Indie Comics Expo (RICE) and WNY Comic Arts to produce a new comic book titled LIMIT
BREAKER, which will be available May 2026.
LIMIT BREAKER depicts the epic battle between our hero, LIMIT BREAKER, and his
arch-nemesis, LIMIT SETTER, told from the perspective of two drunks at a bar arguing over
who would win.
Daniels described the book as “A guy whose ability is breaking his own limits versus another
guy who’s ability is to set limits on others. It’s really the battle of the century.”
A reading of LIMIT BREAKER will take place at Gutterpop Comics 1421 Hertel Ave. Buffalo, NY
on Thursday May 7th. Doors open at 7pm and reading starts at 8pm. There will be free pizza
and drinks.
Daniels and other grant recipients will read their past works and show snippets of their award
winning comics at The RICE Comics Slideshow at Writers & Books, 740 University Ave.
Rochester, NY on Friday May 15th, from 7pm-8pm.
The RICE 2026 exhibitor’s hall will take place at Sibley Square 240 E. Main St., Rochester, NY
