Rock legends Eagles expand Las Vegas residency show

Don Henley has said this year is probably it for the Eagles. But before dropping the curtain, the band is playing at least six more shows at Sphere.

The rock legends are playing Sept. 18-19, Nov. 13-14 and Nov. 27-28, announced Monday morning. Tickets are on sale at ticketmaster.com 10 a.m Pacific time May 15.

The new dates expand the band’s residency to 64 shows since opening Sept. 20, 2024. No Doubt is up next, opening its 18-show run Wednesday night.

The Eagles have been on a long goodbye at least since 2003’s “Farewell 1 Tour,” running 2003 to 2004.

Don Henley told “CBS Sunday Morning” this is likely the last year for the Eagles.

“I think this year will probably be it,” Henley said on the telecast. “I’ve said things like that before, but I feel like we’re getting toward the end. And that will be fine, too.”

Henley noted in the interview, which aired Feb. 8, Super Bowl Sunday, “I’ve traveled all over the world, but I haven’t seen much of it. We see the airports and the hotel room and the venue, and we don’t get out much. So I’d like to go to some of the same places I’ve been and see more of those places, before it all disappears or gets vaporized or whatever.”

Henley said he planned to increase his interest in gardening. “I don’t ever want to have a one-dimensional life,” said the rocker, who will be 78 when the band resumes its residency. “I mean this is great, this is wonderful … I have four kids and a grandchild. There are just lots of other things to do.”

Since founding in 1971, they have sold more than 150 million albums internationally and are one of the best-selling American bands in history. Their “Greatest Hits (1971-1975)” collection is the best-selling album in U.S. history, last month surpassing 40 million units in sales and streams. It is the first album to be certified four-times Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America.
