Mob Museum to host ‘Untapped Story: A Beer Tasting Experience’

History, storytelling and beer come together this summer in a new experience at the Mob Museum.

The downtown Las Vegas museum is offering “The Untapped Story: A Beer Tasting Experience” this June through August. The experience includes a 60-minute guided tour of the museum, as well as time in The Underground distillery.

So, why beer?

You may have heard of a little era called Prohibition. For your history lesson of the day, this was the period from 1920 to 1933 when the U.S. essentially banned alcohol. Those dang saloons.

Along the tour — which includes the museum’s own Big Al’s Ale among the two 6-ounce pours and one 12-ounce beer — guests will hear all about how Prohibition fueled the early rise of organized crime and how beer played a role in the Mob’s power. The museum says the experience is perfect for beer enthusiasts, history buffs, dates or anyone looking for something unique in Las Vegas. Head home with a souvenir pint glass.

The experience is available Mondays through Thursdays at 7 p.m. for $69 per person, or $49 for members. Private tours for up to 10 people are available for $599. Of course, everyone must be 21 or older to partake.
