You wonder when Carlos Santana will dial back his tour and residency schedule. The answer is, not this year.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has booked eight dates at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. The new dates are Sept. 16, 17, 19, 20, 23, 24, 26 and 27, on sale 10 a.m. Pacific time Friday at ticketmaster.com.
Among the last rockers who played Woodstock still headlining, Santana returns Wednesday for eight shows running through May 24.
And, the “Soul Sacrifice” superstar continues his co-headlining tour with the Doobie Brothers for three months and nearly 30 shows ending in August.
The House of Blues extension brings the rocker’s total number of shows through September to 48. A noble schedule for any performer. Santana turns 79 in July. He has played more shows at House of Blues, where he opened in May 2012, than any other performer.
Away from the stage, Santana continues to advance his entrepreneurial interests. He has just launched a jewelry brand, Santana Now. The guitar great is intensely involved in the “accessible luxury” collection, a partnership with LMN Creations.
Company founder Noreen Paris is focused on artist-inspired brands in the entertainment and sports arenas.
According to Santana’s official website, Santana Now “translates his message of peace, unity, and spiritual connection into wearable design. The debut introduces a focused selection of pieces featuring symbolic motifs, including sacred geometry and cross-cultural iconography, crafted in precious metals, diamonds, gemstones, and authenticated Woodstock Wood.”
