Celine Dion has extended her dates in Paris, and by extending the timeline, she could conceivably perform again in Las Vegas.
Late Sunday night, Dion announced 10 additional shows next year to her production at Paris La Défense Arena. The new dates run from May 8 to May 29, with tickets on sale at 1 a.m. PT on Wednesday at AXS.com and Ticketmaster.com (check celinedion.com for updates and intel). Dion’s first set of 16 performances is set for Sept. 12 to Oct. 17.
The additional dates grow Dion’s full schedule to 26 performances, a clear indication she is managing the effects of Stiff Person Syndrome that forced her from the stage nearly five years ago.
Dion is now hard-focused on the Paris production for at least the next year. A return to Las Vegas, or any departure from her Paris commitment, is reportedly not in her short-term plans.
The 58-year-old former Caesars Palace headliner maintains a home in Lake Las Vegas.
“Unprecedented demand” from fans who registered on the initial Dion presale prompted the new dates, according to the superstar’s announcement. La Défense Arena is Europe’s largest indoor arena, seating 30,000 for Dion’s production. She is selling a total of 780,000 tickets for this run.
