Jo Koy plays all the rooms. That includes the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
The famed national headliner who attended UNLV is set to headline the theater Sept. 19; tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday PT at ticketmaster.com. Production company Live Nation Las Vegas announced the show Monday morning.
Koy has sold out T-Mobile Arena twice. He and Gabriel Iglesias became the first comics to sell out SoFi Stadium in March.
Koy signed a two-special deal with Netflix, with the first released in 2024. “Jo Koy: Live From Brooklyn” was filmed at the historic King’s Theatre. Koy recently filmed his upcoming Netflix special in Stockton, Calif., set to release this year.
But long before his Netflix and touring ascent, Koy dropped out of UNLV to pursue comedy. He landed his first bookings in 1994. He was initially featured at the late-great Catch a Rising Star at MGM Grand. Three years later, he leased Huntridge Theater and self-marketed tickets on foot, going door-to-door to fill the room.
Koy also weathered criticism for his Taylor Swift material as host of the 2024 Golden Globes awards show: “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.”
But with Koy as host, the show’s viewership was up 50 percent from 2023. The broadcast moved to CBS, from NBC-Peacock streaming service, drawing 9.4 million viewers.
