Cypress Hill to play M Resort pool concert in September

He made a black-clad crowd of 40,000 strong get on their knees — literally.

It’s late in the afternoon during the Sick New World heavy music fest in April at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, and Cypress Hill frontman B-Real is instructing the massive audience to crouch down and await his command.

Then, just as the hip-hop superstars launched into their signature hit “Insane in the Brain,” he told this gargantuan throng of fans to jump to their feet.

The ground practically shook from so many bodies suddenly pistoning into motion.

Now, after performing at one of the biggest hard rock and metal fests in the country, Cypress Hill dives into a more intimate setting when they headline the M Pool at the M Resort on Sept. 26.

The show is part of the “Once Upon a Time in the Summer Tour,” which commemorates the 35th anniversary of the band’s landmark self-titled debut, a gangster rap classic that made them the first Latino American hip-hop group to go platinum, a feat that they’d repeat three times over on 1993’s smash follow-up, “Black Sunday.”

Tickets for Cypress Hill start at $30 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday at themresort.com or ticketmaster.com.
