Whether you’re looking to get involved or just watch the carnage, at least three major hot dog eating contests are on tap for the Fourth of July.
The Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest at New York-New York will serve as a qualifier for the famed competition at New York’s Coney Island on July 4, 2027.
It’s part of the hotel’s America 250 Bridge Bash on its version of the Brooklyn Bridge.
The family-friendly event starts at 3 p.m. with live music, games and $2.50 food and beverage offerings. The competition, recognized as an official Major League Eating event, will begin at 4 p.m.
Potential contestants can apply at majorleagueeating.com.
“Weenies and Bikinis,” meanwhile, will feature contestants in swimwear scarfing down hot dogs from American Coney Island for a share of a $5,000 prize pool.
That event starts at 5 p.m. on July 4 at Stadium Swim at Circa. General admission tickets for the pool are $30.
Nearby in the Arts District, The Silver Stamp, an award-winning beer bar, hosts its annual hot dog eating contest on July 4 starting at 3 p.m., with a $500 cash prize for the winner. Contestants can sign up now through @silverstamplv on Instagram.
