A new season has arrived, which means a new display is up at Bellagio’s Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
This summer, the gardens feature an elaborate wildlife and floral exhibit, to “bring the beauty of the jungle to life.” Titled “Paradise: Nature’s Most Beautiful Creations,” the display will remain until Sept. 12. Inside, creatures and scenes are made of 20,450 plants, 8,500 goose feathers (for the tigers), 2,500 pampas grass plumes (for the lion’s mane) and 900 pounds of flaxseed (for the giraffe’s coats). It was built by 100 employees over six days and features 21 animals.
Behind the project is designer Ed Libby and the property’s horticulture team.
This year, the team debuted a new feature, The Watering Hole, a nightly cocktail experience with three courses of beverages and small plates within the gardens. The cocktail experience seats at 6, 8 or 10 p.m. and can be booked online, beginning at $500 (plus tax) for up to four guests, or $1,000 (plus tax) for parties of five or more.
Besides The Watering Hole, guests can dine at The Garden Table, serving breakfast and brunch from Sadelle’s for $135 per person and dinner from Michael Mina for $195 per person. To book, call 702-693-7075.
The Conservatory and Botanical Gardens are free to visit and open 24 hours per day.
“From a spectacular 40-foot-tall treehouse soaring above the Conservatory to majestic animals, stunning botanicals and epic artistry at every turn, the sheer scale of the experience is truly breathtaking,” Libby said in a media release. “The exhibit allows visitors to leave the everyday behind and step into a captivating summer journey inspired by the beauty, mystery and excitement of the natural world.”
Here’s what you can expect, per Bellagio:
— West Bed: Elephants gather beside a watering hole, symbolizing wisdom, memory and deep connection amid dense greenery. Hidden among the foliage, playful monkeys swing through the canopy while tree frogs emerge between the leaves, creating moments of surprise throughout the bed. Rising above the jungle scene, The Garden Table offers a lantern-lit dining retreat surrounded by layered greenery, wildlife and reflective pools.
— North Bed: In the North Bed, tigers wrapped in florals move through the jungle with quiet intensity, embodying strength, confidence and untamed beauty. At the heart of the scene, a magnificent 22-foot tiger lounges peacefully amid the foliage, having found a moment of rest within this lush oasis. With a gentle yawn and not a care in the world, the regal creature serves as a reminder that even in the midst of Las Vegas’ bold energy, moments of tranquility can still be found. Nearby, an energetic tiger cub explores its surroundings, playfully leaping toward cascading water, while colorful toucans perch among palm trees, bringing bursts of color and contrast to the bed.
— East Bed: The East Bed celebrates connection and natural beauty through a majestic lion and playful cub resting among flowering beds and greenery. Framed by florals, the lion’s commanding presence anchors the space while the cub brings a sense of movement and wonder to the scene. Nearby, flamingos add flashes of pink beside reflective waters, while oversized passion flowers bloom beneath jungle canopies, creating a peaceful setting where nature’s power and elegance coexist.
— South Bed: Towering giraffes welcome guests into the South Bed, where cascading greenery, vibrant blooms and blue herons create a tranquil jungle setting. Standing beside the giraffes, the herons symbolize patience, wisdom and quiet reflection. Also located within the South Bed, The Watering Hole invites guests into Bellagio Conservatory’s first-ever nightly cocktail experience.
While Bellagio’s displays are made of living foliage, water comes from underground wells that use rain and recycled water from the resort, avoiding municipal potable water, the property said. Once the display has ended, plants with viable life are separated by a local composting facility.
