Ultimate guide to Fourth of July in Las Vegas: Fireworks, parties and parades

Southern Nevada will celebrate America’s 250th birthday with plenty of fireworks shows, parties, parades and special events.

On the Strip, the America250 Fireworks Celebration will launch at 9 p.m. July 4 from rooftops at Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, The Venetian, MGM Grand, Aria, Planet Hollywood, Resorts World, The Strat and Fontainebleau. The eight-minute show will be synchronized on radio stations KOMP-FM 92.3, 97.1 FM the Point and 98.9 HANK FM. The show will feature coordinated red, white and blue lighting and there will be a 30-minute marquee takeover. The Sphere’s Exosphere will also feature complementary programming.

Other events include Boulder City hosting the 78th Damboree; the annual Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade featuring patriotic and pop-themed floats, plus representation from the Golden Knights, Raiders, Athletics and Aviators; and Station Casinos 50th anniversary celebration, which will have fireworks going off at multiple locations on July 4, plus a kickoff display July 1 at Palace Station.

Strip

America250 Fireworks Celebration

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s weekly celebration kicked off June 6 and runs through July 25. An eight-minute synchronized show launches at 9 p.m. Saturdays from select locations. Designed and produced by Fireworks by Grucci, the show is in partnership with Las Vegas Events. In addition to the Fourth of July, the display will be presented at the following dates and locations: June 27 from Resorts World, Fontainebleau and The Strat; July 11 from MGM Grand, Aria and Planet Hollywood; July 18 from Resorts World, Fontainebleau and The Strat; and July 25 from Caesars Palace, Treasure Island and The Venetian.

BLVD Las Vegas

“Freedom to Flow” features a rave Pilates class and a fireworks viewing experience with DJs and a secret headliner, 7 p.m.-midnight July 4. Tickets start at $10 at discoflow.net. blvdlasvegas.com

Cabo Wabo Cantina

The Cosmopolitan

The resort’s summer movie series offers a special Fourth of July viewing of “National Treasure” at 8 p.m. on the 65-foot digital marquee at the Boulevard Pool. Fontainebleau

Oasis Pool features a viewing party with small bites and drinks 7-10 p.m. July 4 (also June 27 and July 18); $25 for non-hotel guests. For ages 21 and older, LIV Beach features country music group Midland 8-11 p.m. July 4, includes the hotel-casino’s fireworks launch and barbecue food from Chef Ali Clem’s Michelin-starred la Barbecue, tickets start at $35. MGM Resorts patriotic celebrations

In addition to Aria and MGM Grand launching fireworks, the Fountains of Bellagio will feature patriotic lights during shows July 3-5, Mandalay Bay and Luxor will have holiday-inspired lighting displays July 3-5 and July 11, with themed Dive in Movie nights at The Cosmopolitan on July 4 and July 11.

New York-New York

Open to all ages, the “America 250 Bridge Bash” on the Brooklyn Bridge features entertainment, games, stilt walkers, $2.50 food and beverage offerings and more, starting at 3 p.m. July 4; free admission. The Tower Observation Deck opens at 5 p.m. July 4 for a viewing party featuring access to the indoor and outdoor observation deck, hot dogs, chips, party favors, face painting, a DJ, a hot dog-eating contest and more. The 78th annual Damboree on July 4 will begin with the Rotary pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. at Bicentennial Park, 1100 Colorado St. At 9 a.m., the Boulder City Veterans Flying Group will perform a flyover and the parade will get underway. The parade route will begin at Colorado Street, travel down Nevada Highway to Fifth Street and end at Broadbent Memorial Park (Avenue B and Sixth Street). After the parade, the Boulder City Swimming Pool will feature games, food, a beer wagon and Boulder City non-profit vendors. Buckskin Basin Park

“Blast Off in The Basin,” hosted by the Las Vegas City Council, Mayor Shelley Berkley and Councilwomen Francis Allen-Palenske and Nancy E. Brune, will begin at 7 p.m. July 4 in northwest Las Vegas at Buckskin Basin Park, 7350 Buckskin Ave. The event will feature a 12-minute show with fireworks and drones, a DJ and food trucks. The aerial tribute will feature the Thunderbirds’ iconic six-aircraft delta formation featuring six red, white and blue F-16 Fighting Falcons flying in close formation. The route will include several landmarks and neighborhoods around the Las Vegas Valley, culminating with a flight over Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam features a 45,000-square-foot American flag and nightly patriotic lighting display through July 4.
