St. Felix Sin City, an outpost of L.A. cool that drew on the longtime Las Vegas-Los Angeles connection, has closed at The Bend in southwest Vegas after less than a year.
“It is with a Heavy Heart that we are announcing that we are closing this location. It’s been an amazing experience meeting this wonderful Community in the Southwest and having such amazing neighbors here at The Bend! We saw the vision of establishing this brand here, and the runway to take off was not long enough for us,” a notice taped to a window reads, in part.
The Hollywood St. Felix debuted in 2008 and remains open. Owner John Arakaki debuted St. Felix Sin City late last November with design nods to “Showgirls,” obscure 1960s albums, a particular shade of pink from British designer Paul Smith, 1970s sci-fi reels (“Logan’s Run,” for one) and 1980s playlists,
Inventive cocktails led the beverage program, like a Purple Reign tribute to Prince (Martin Miller’s English Gin, fresh squeezed lemon juice, mariposa butterfly pea flower tea that turns violet). Among the standout dishes were a St. Felix platter with truffled Parmesan popcorn, mac and cheese, vegetarian tacos, Southern fried chicken and wagyu sliders, Malaysian steak skewers with a hit of fish sauce, and deviled eggs drizzled with Thai peanut sauce.
Neon has reached out to Arakaki for comment on the closure.
