I was waiting to pick up some family at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport at 11:30 a.m. on a Monday, close to the lei stands. We noticed a lot of visitors walking in the sun to the city bus stop on Ala Onaona Street. Some of them were in wheelchairs and many more were kupuna who looked like they were having trouble walking.
With the hundreds of millions of dollars spent to improve the airport, don’t you think we should spend some to make the visitor experience better?
There is a need for better signage to the bus stop and a covered walkway to protect visitors from the sun and rain. That would help make their walk of 150 yards from the terminal to the bus stop much more pleasant.
