Flavor Flav and Clique Hospitality have formed a partnership. It means, in a word, “Party.”
The prominent Las Vegas nightlife (and “daylife”) company is hosting a celebration at its new Tailgate Beach Club at Mandalay Bay on July 19, the final date of Flav’s four-day SHE Weekend.
Tailgate Beach Club, which launched in May, trumpets itself as the Strip’s “first sports pool club.” The 50,000-square-foot space will be the backdrop for the Sunday celebration. The party deck features more than 125 feet of LED screens, three heated pools and a beach set in Mandalay Bay’s 11-acre tropical complex.
The club features 25 luxury cabanas, two premium bungalows and has a capacity for up to 2,000. A Flav-fashioned experience, it seems. Among its Vegas venues, Clique also operates Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails at The Cosmopolitan and Caspian’s Cocktails & Caviar at Caesars Palace.
What the beach club’s SHE Weekend celebration entails is yet to be announced (reservations and intel are at tailgatebeachclub.com).
Conceived by Flav, the event is folded into Strip activities honoring female U.S. Olympic athletes and teams. The first-of-its-kind festival starts with a free public concert at 7 p.m. (as the arrival time) July 16, featuring Public Enemy (Flav and Chuck D.), Sheila E, Grace Bowers and Blue Detiger.
A parade is set for 8 p.m., running between Aria and Park MGM, turning onto Bruno Mars Way and leading to the plaza. Flav will then receive a commemorative Key to the Las Vegas Strip from the Clark County Commission.
He is honoring female U.S. Olympic and Paralympic medalists. Asked recently how the weekend was coming together, the 67-year-old rap legend born William Drayton Jr. said, “The update, the revelation, I can tell you is everything is going smoooooth for SHE Weekend. Everything is going according to His plan.”
