Crews at 1:45 p.m. found a capsized catamaran in the ocean, and the crew from the helicopter hoisted two men from the water. No injuries were reported.
“Registering your personal locator beacon can mean the difference between a quick rescue and an extended search at sea,” said Petty Officer 1st Class Aaron Lenk, command duty officer, Oceania District, in a statement. “It is imperative to register your PLB’s and Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacons, or risk delaying critical response times.”
