Milpa, one of the best Mexican restaurants in Las Vegas, known for its masa fashioned in-house using traditional nixtamalization, is opening a second location, in Henderson.
Chef-owner D.J. Flores and the restaurant announced the debut late Thursday on Instagram but played coy with the address of the store.
“None of this would have been possible without our staff, our guests, and everyone who has supported Milpa from day one. Thank you for believing in us,” the post reads.
A business license application was submitted for Milpa Dos LLC, doing business as Milpa, for 10624 S. Eastern Avenue, Henderson. The chef said he was unsure of an opening date in Henderson, possibly early fall.
Flores has twice been a semifinalist for Best Chef: Southwest in the James Beard Foundation Awards, and Milpa has twice been named to the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s annual list of Top 100 restaurants. The original location is at 4226 S. Durango Drive in southwest Las Vegas.
