Secondhand shoppers, get ready: Insider favorite South Florida thrifting destination American Thrift is opening a new location in Orlando this weekend.
The thrift store has been a popular destination in South Florida for savvy shoppers since 1997. The store is renowned for accepting nearly everything donated (except food), including clothing, furniture, accessories, toys, household goods and even wigs.
The new location will offer a whopping 30,000 square feet of shopping space. The daily deals will be the same as in other locations, including their “happy hour,” where most items are 50 percent off on Fridays from 4-8 p.m.
All American Thrift locations use their donations to support breast cancer research and awareness through organizations like the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation. On top of breast cancer research, the stores support a sustainable shopping model, devoted to making a (hopefully) positive environmental impact by giving items a second life.
The grand opening of American Thrift Orlando at 2000 Principal Row begins with a celebration and giveaways bright and early at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. There will also be a Wonka-esque golden ticket scavenger hunt for three golden tickets worth $100 in store credit hidden somewhere in the racks.
