Vegas singles, it’s time to hit the pods.
Netflix’s “Love Is Blind” is casting in Las Vegas, along with five more locales, for its upcoming seasons.
“If you’re single, tired of dating apps, and ready to prove that love is actually blind, your pod is waiting,” says the announcement from Kinetic Content Casting. The company is also casting in Phoenix, New York City, Orlando, Florida, and the states of Georgia and Tennessee.
For the uninitiated, the Netflix reality dating show is set up like this: An equal number of men and women date each other for 10 days in custom-built “pods,” where they cannot see the other person. If or when someone feels ready, they’ll propose. The couple then sees each other for the first time, and heads to a couples’ resort for a week to further get to know each other. At the resort, the other pairs from the show all meet. Then, the engaged couples move to apartments in their home city to meet friends and family.
The show finishes with the weddings, where — in true reality show drama — they may call it all off. Of course, there’s a reunion episode filmed after the season, in which conflicts are rehashed and tender moments recounted.
“Love Is Blind” will enter its 11th season in the fall, set in Boston, with Vanessa and Nick Lachey returning as hosts. Since its debut in 2018, “Love Is Blind” has franchised globally, including Argentina, Germany, Poland and the U.K.
The casting announcement comes after another Netflix dating show by the same crew, “The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On,” filmed in Las Vegas for its fourth season, now streaming.
So, could you truly find love?
Some couples have, including the first season’s Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed-Hamilton, who have since turned their whirlwind romance into an entrepreneurial opportunity and expanded their family. As for the show’s stats, only 18 percent of accepted proposals result in marriage (compared with the U.S. rate of 85 percent). Of those who do get married, about half of them work out.
The application is 73 questions long, including “What does marriage mean to you?” and “Are you ready for true commitment?” To apply, visit the application at Kinetic Content. Applicants must be at least 21, U.S. residents and truly single.
