A downed tree is seen on Young Street between Kalakaua Avenue and Keeaumoku Street this morning as Tropical Storm Lala passes south of Oahu.
Honolulu police reported multiple road closures on Oahu due to high winds, rain and flooding caused by Tropical Storm Lala.
>> Punahou Overpass: Honolulu police have opened the westbound lanes of the H-1 at the Punahou Overpass. The eastbound lanes remain closed at this time.
>> Pali Highway and Nuuanu: Numerous downed trees prompted Honolulu police to close the Pali Highway in both directions from Kamehameha Highway on the Kailua side to Waokanaka Street in Nuuanu. No motorists are allowed there until further notice.
>> Kalakaua and Seaside Avenue: Honolulu police have closed lanes in the area of Kalakaua and Seaside Avenues following heavy flooding in the area.
>> Kapiolani Boulevard and Kalakaua: Honolulu police and the Honolulu Fire Department were on the scene in the area of the Hawaii Convention Center after a large downed tree blocked all of Kapiolani Boulevard. Lane closures were being set up in the westbound lane from Kalakaua Avenue and Kapiolani Boulevard.
>> Kaneohe: Honolulu police have closed Kahekili Highway in both directions from Haiku Road to Hui Iwa Street following a mudslide and downed trees blocking the roadway.

“Please avoid these areas if possible, but if you must travel, find alternate routes and please drive with caution and give as much space for responders to work safely and efficiently,” HPD said in a social media post.
