Mama Chai’s tea shop and bakery closing in Chinatown Vegas

Mama Chai’s, a tea shop and bakery in Chinatown Vegas that grew into a community gathering spot, one offering everything from K-pop events to a Labubu pop-up to Dubai chocolate “nigiri” with dipping sauces, is closing, the restaurant announced in an Instagram post.

“After all the sweet memories, it’s time to say goodbye to Mama Chai’s Las Vegas,” the post reads. “Our last day will be August 30th, so there’s still time to stop by, grab your favorites, and enjoy one more Mama Chai’s moment with us.”

Jenny Chai opened Mama Chai’s in February 2023, following the December 2022 launch of sibling Mr. BBQ, which shared the same 4240 Spring Mountain address as Mama Chai’s. Mr. BBQ closed at the end of March.

The menu at Mama Chai’s features cold-brewed teas, milk teas, matcha drinks, smoothies, lattes and pastries like signature mochi doughnuts, tanghulu (sugar-shelled fruit skewers) and Dubai chewy cookies. Visit mamachais.com.
