Yes, the Nook on Robinson is closing on Halloween and yes, that’s news to be sad about. But until then, it’s business as unusual at the Milk District watering hole. And that means two longstanding musical residences are happening back-to-back, offering adventurous electronic music for zero dollars.
On Friday, the avant-beatmaker showcase Please Understand goes down. Curated by Motherworm (who will also perform), this particular edition features Silencio, Wush, Nextl and Sponatola, with visuals by Sasha King. Saturday night sees the Circuit Church electronic music event, happening, with sets from Voltage Wizard Windup, Boy Without Batteries, Emk and Silica Sculptures and visuals by Zap Danger (who just took home a Best of Orlando award for third place in Best Electronic Act).
Please Understand happens tonight (Friday, Aug. 22) at 9 p.m. and Circult Church happens Saturday, Aug. 23, at 8 p.m. And just to re-emphasize, both events are free opportunities to hear experimental local sounds.
