Sea Dogs drop rain-shortened finale to Fightin Phils

Raider Tello and Carson DeMartini drove in three runs apiece as the Reading Fightin Phils defeated the Portland Sea Dogs 10-3 in a game shortened to seven innings because of rain Sunday at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field.

Reading (59-60) won the final four games of the series after dropping the first two.

Tello hit a two-run double as part of a five-run seventh inning that blew the game open.

Bryan Rincon and DeMartini had two hits each for Reading. Luke Russo (10-8, 4.61 ERA) allowed three hits and three earned runs over five innings.

Miguel Bleis and Henry Godbout homered for Portland (60-59). Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony was 0 for 3 in his fourth rehab appearance for the Sea Dogs.

Portland’s Steven Brooks (0-1, 5.59) walked five batters and allowed two earned run in two-thirds of an inning. He relieved starter Morgan McSweeney, who allowed three earned runs on four hits in four innings, with six strikeouts and no walks.
