Twelve Talons Beerworks is closing for good this weekend.
The brewhouse has lived in the Milk District at 2807 E. South St. for just about five years, but it’s been around since early 2019.
The news of the closure came in a social media post shared by the Talons team, encouraging locals to come see them before their last day: Sunday.
Until the closure, Twelve Talons says it will remain operating under its usual hours. Events and food trucks will run as planned, with birria tacos available Wednesday through Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. Dean’s Oyster pop-up Sunday happens from 5 to 8 p.m.
“And we’re keeping a rounded tap list with a few local guest beers for the lighter stuff.”
Twelve Talons hasn’t stated publicly its reason for closing. However, the Bungalower reports that owner Travis Smith says the combination of rising operating costs, high rent and dips in sales contributed to the shutdown.
The brewhouse is only the latest in a string of small-business closures in the area. Just around the corner, popular nightlife and eatery destinations The Nook and Gringos Locos both announced closures in very recent weeks, albeit in very different manners: Gringos closed so suddenly that even some employees were taken by surprise, while The Nook will remain open through Halloween night, when they plan to go out in style.
