Sandra S. Jones, 90, of Essex Junction, Vt., passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, in Burlington, Vt.
Sandy was born in Clinton, Mass., to James Hubert Strang and Dorothy Wiles Strang on October 28, 1935. She went to school in Leominster, Mass., and graduated from Leominster High School and a two-year junior college. On August 23, 1958, she married Hawley D. Jones in Sterling, Mass. She worked as a decorator/seamstress independently and for Fabric Place (formerly Sportswear Store) for many years before retiring.
Sandy was an amazing human, and she left a handprint on the heart of all who knew her! She was loved, and she will be missed immensely!
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Hawley D. Jones; parents, James Hubert and Dorothy Wiles Strang; and oldest brother, Donald Strang.
Sandy is survived by her two children, Michael Lewis Jones and partner Beth Kissinger, and Holly Jones Stricker; brother James Strang; sister-in-law, Laura Towns; granddaughters, Addy Rose Holowach and spouse Dean Holowach, Cariana Jones, and Lydia Don Stricker; and many nieces and nephews.
The family of Sandy Jones wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Daniel Goodyear and the entire staff at Richmond Family Medicine, the nursing and medical staff on Baird 3 at the University of Vermont Medical Center, and St. James Episcopal Church of Essex Junction.
Funeral services will be held on Friday August 28, 2026, 11 a.m., at St. James Episcopal Church in Essex Junction.
