Bruno Zacchini felt he had no choice but to shutter Pizza Bruno’s Maitland Social location just two years after opening an outpost inside the fledgling multipurpose venue. “I just couldn’t get it to a place where it was financially viable,” he said.
Now another pizza concept is poised to move in. It’s called DiVino and it’s from Massimo Fallica and Adriana Arenas, the couple behind the highly lauded Grappolo Cucina Italiana in Winter Park.
DiVino will center around (surprise surprise) wood-fired pizza of the Neapolitan kind and will employ the space’s existing Fiero Forni oven to offer a rotating selection of made-to-order pies like salsiccia e friarielli, pizza Genovese and bufalina. The menu will also feature items from Grappolo’s menu, including bruschetta, burrata, antipasto boards, arancini, crostini di polpo and polpette al ragù, all made in-house daily.
Classic desserts like tiramisù, cannoli and pastiera Napoletana will also be offered, as will a curated selection of wine and beer.
“We wanted to bring the same commitment to quality and authenticity that has defined Grappolo, but to a more casual yet still upscale setting,” said Arenas . “DiVino is about great pizza, great wine and a relaxed atmosphere for the Maitland community.”
