The unofficial theme at Fremont Street Experience is “big parties.” Formally, FSE is hosting “Emo Night” on Oct. 3, a one-night festival led by a performance by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
The free event starts at 7 p.m. and is open to all ages. The event will include performances by Lioneer and High Sierra Club on the 3rd Street Stage. A silent disco, custom merchandise vendors, interactive photo ops and the Fremont Street Party Pit, as well as the ever-present SlotZilla zip line, will be activated.
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus has issued their platinum-certified debut album, “Don’t You Fake It,” and has been a popular emo and alt-rock band for two decades.
Emo Night marks Fremont Street Experience’s third themed event of the year, following the overwhelming success of its ‘90s House Parties in April and July. Those shows drew crowds of more than 10,000 to FSE.
“The response to our House Parties showed us how much guests enjoy a full night built around the music and memories they grew up with,” says FSE President and CEO Cliff Atkinson, who has led the theme trend. “Emo Night continues that tradition with a night dedicated to the music, style and nostalgia that defined the scene.”
