Tropical Depression Fourteen-E forms off Baja California

The five-day forecast track for Tropical Depression Fourteen-E as of 11 a.m. Hawaii time.

As Tropical Storm Lowell moves farther away from the Hawaiian Islands, Tropical Depression Fourteen-E has formed in the East Pacific well south-southwest of the Baja California Peninsula.

At 2 p.m., Fourteen-E was located about 605 miles southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, carrying maximum sustained winds of 35 mph with higher gusts.

The tropical depression was moving west-northwest at 9 mph and expected to continue in a westward motion over the next couple of days.

Fourteen-E is forecast to gradually strengthen over the next several days before becoming a tropical storm tonight or Thursday.
