The program celebrates the unique voices of the American musical scene, featuring Aaron Copland’s Hoe-Down, Edward MacDowell’s To a Wild Rose, Amy Beach’s Romance for Violin, George Gershwin’s Lullaby for Strings, and Ruth Crawford Seeger’s Andante for Strings.
After intermission, the program continues with George Walker’s Lyric for Strings, Leonard Bernstein’s Danzón from Fancy Free, John Corigliano’s Voyage for String Orchestra, and Jessie Montgomery’s Strum.
