Biddeford rebounds, takes down Westbrook

Estevao Lembissa rushed for two touchdowns and returned a kickoff 87 yards for the go-ahead score, leading Biddeford to a 31-14 win over Westbrook in a Class B South football game Friday night in Biddeford.

The teams combined for three touchdowns in the first two minutes. Biddeford (4-1) received the opening kickoff and quickly drove down the field and need just six plays to score, on a 7-yard run by Lembissa.

Cole Tanner returned the ensuing kickoff 70 yards to make it 7-7, but Biddeford needed just two plays to answer, with a 17-yard pass from Ernest Dore to Trey Coleman.

Westbrook (1-4) then grabbed a 14-13 lead on the final play of the first quarter when Beckett Griffin connected with Andre Hicks III for a 12-yard touchdown pass. But Lembissa opened the second quarter by returning the kickoff 87 yards, putting Biddeford ahead for good.

Cameron Bergeron extended the lead to 25-14 later in the second quarter when he broke a couple tackles and raced 61 yards with a screen pass.

Lembissa added a 53-yard TD run in the third quarter.

WINDHAM 42, BONNY EAGLE 6: Lucas Klehn accounted for all six Bonny Eagle touchdowns — four rushing and two passing — as the Scots (5-0) rolled past the Eagles (2-3) in Windham.

Klehn scored three times on power runs up the middle, twice from 16 yards and once from the 27. He also plunged in from 1.

Klehn’s first two TD runs were sandwiched around a 39-yard touchdown pass to Wes Pinkham as Bonny Eagle, the No. 2 team in the Varsity Maine Top 10, opened a 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

Windham got a 10-yard touchdown run from Jordan Pastore in the second quarter, but Klehn’s 1-yard TD made it 28-6 at halftime.

Ben Noe took a screen pass 43 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. Klehn capped the scoring with his 27-yard run.
