The 44-year-old man who died in a Sunday motorcycle crash has been identified as Matthew Adamson of Wailuku, Maui police said Friday.
At about 9:36 p.m. on Sunday, the man was riding a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Wailea Alanui Drive in Wailea when he lost control, veered to the right, and struck a curb, according to the Maui Police Department.
Adamson was ejected onto the road and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
He was not wearing a helmet, and speed is suspected to be a factor in the crash, police said.
The death was Maui County’s 10th traffic fatality this year, compared with 12 at the same time last year.
