A food festival returns to Las Vegas with a new name but the same focus on the culinary and cultural traditions of India.
The event, Indian Food Festival Mela, was previously known as the Indian Food and Cultural Festival. It will take place at noon Saturday at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. Indian Food Festival Mela is being held in honor of Vaisakhi, the celebration of the spring harvest.
The festival features dishes from north and south India, from traditional versions to modern takes; street favorites like pani puri and samosas; and traditional sweets. The festival also features classical and Bollywood dance, music and artisan vendors.
