Flooding has prompted the Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center shelter in Pukalani to close to Maui residents seeking shelter from the storm, according to a Maui County news release.
“Residents who need a safe place to go should proceed to the next nearest available shelter that can be safely reached,” according to a statement.
Other available shelters on Maui include:
>> Wailuku: Baldwin High School, 1650 Kaahumanu Ave.
>> Hana: Hana High and Elementary School Cafeteria, 4111 Hana Highway
>> Lahaina: Lahaina Civic Center Gym, 1840 Honoapiilani Highway
