LAVA HOT SPRINGS, Idaho — The Kats! Bureau is this favorite hamlet in the Gem State. But we are still reachable by Morgan Wallen’s long arm and loud complaints.
Wallen sold out Allegiant Stadium and called out Las Vegas for “flaky people” in Friday’s show. This was a reference to what he said were those who flaked out for his walk to the stage.
The full comment, “Y’all got some flaky a— people in this town. I had like five different people lined up to do the walkout and they all bailed on me last minute.”
Wallen’s reps have not returned e-mail and texts asking for the identities of the flakes.
Saturday, Vegas Golden Knights stars and Olympic gold medalists Jack Eichel and Noah Hanifin flanked the oft-bomastic recording star.
Mike Tyson and Tom Brady joined Wallen in his 2024 tour stop at Allegiant Stadium. Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end Jared Allen (from nearby Pocatello, as it turns out) walked with Wallen at the tour’s opener April 10 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
Wallen’s walk to the stage is the fiery table-setter to his concerts. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce joined his walk in Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium in August 2024. Those who have not flaked and showed up include Troy Aikman, Roger Clemens, Baker Mayfield, DeAndre Hopkins, Andre Johnson and Nick Saban.
Wallen wore a No. 98 Maxx Crosby jersey the night Brady and Tyson appeared at Allegiant Stadium. In his return over the weekend, the 32-year-old Wallen stalked the stage wearing a Larry Johnson No. 4 Runnin’ Rebels jersey. He shouted “Thank you!” several times and promised to be back.
