The Honolulu Ocean Safety Department — one of the nation’s busiest and most active ocean safety programs — announced today a transition to a fully digital reporting system.
HOSD’s unveiled the new Watchtower app, which centralizes data reporting to reduce administrative workload and improve operations, including preventative actions, rescues, and emergency medical responses.
“Access to real-time information allows us to better understand what is happening across our beaches, make data-driven decisions, and respond more effectively to changing conditions,” Chief of Ocean Safety Kurt Lager said.
Watchtower provides quick access to critical information, improved accuracy of records, and reduced paper consumption to allow for easier data analysis as part of the department’s larger mission to improve public service and preparedness.
