Lisa Vanderpump calls Vanderpump Hotel “my little love letter to Las Vegas.”
But it is more, much more than that. The boutique resort is Vanderpump’s most ambitious Vegas project yet. To chart the occasion, the reality show and hospitality personality has dropped the trailer for “Vanderpump Rules: Lisa Las Vegas.”
The first of the series’ three episodes premieres on Bravo at 9 p.m. Oct. 20, then streaming Oct. 21 on Peacock.
The series covers the behind-the-scenes scramble to open the resort this past June. Filming was split between Las Vegas and L.A.
Along with Vanderpump, key figures are her husband of 44 years, Ken Todd; her daughter, Pandora Vanderpump Sabo; her son, Max Vanderpump-Todd; and trusted business partner and creative-design great Nick Alain. The series incorporates statue of Vanderpump’s beloved Pomeranian, Giggy, the centerpiece of the cocktail lounge named for the pooch.
And, Vanderpump’s longtime friend and event planner Kevin Lee is back in the fold. Lee planned Pandora’s wedding and is the inspiration for Martin Short’s character Franck Eggelhoffer from the 1991 comedy classic “Father of the Bride.”
Through quick cuts and slick editing, the premiere shows the team scrambling to fill a lengthy to-do list for the June 11 opening. There are holes in the ceiling to be repaired, shattered planters to be swept away and technical glitches as Vanderpump records outgoing phone messages for guests.
Vanderpump repeats version of, “This still isn’t finished, obviously,” or, “This still isn’t done,” as Caesars Entertainment exec Sean McBurney frowns and stares skyward.
On the hot corner of Flamingo and The Strip (replacing the Cromwell), Vanderpump Hotel is a Vanderpump’s latest in her partnership with Caesars Entertainment. The hotel follows Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace, Vanderpump à Paris at Paris Las Vegas and Pinky’s at the Flamingo.
“I’m such a fan of Las Vegas, you can’t even believe it,” Vanderpump said in May. “It’s an extraordinary city, jam-packed with some of the best restaurants and entertainment in the world. Nothing compares to it.”
Vanderpump’s rise as a reality icon started when she was co-star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” (2010-2019) and executive producer of “Vanderpump Rules” (2013-2020). Vanderpump is also the latest honoree as Nevada Ballet Theatre’s Woman of the Year. As for her branded hotel that is is the focus of this series (spoiler alert), it has come off famously.
