The neighborhood restaurant known for its sandwiches and patty melts closed Saturday. Rory’s Irish Pub will take over the High Street space.
Snappy Pattys closed for good Saturday after 14 years in West Medford.
The restaurant announced the closure in a social media post Tuesday. “After 14 incredible years of serving this community, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors,” Snappy Pattys announced on Facebook.
The High Street restaurant served was known for its sandwiches and patty melts, along with a wide-ranging menu that included lunch and dinner daily, and brunch on the weekends.
Regulars and supporters shared their disappointment on social media following the announcement.
“So sad to hear this. Our Friday nights will never be the same,” one commenter wrote. “You moved into the neighborhood at the same time I did and we loved having you as our neighborhood restaurant,” another wrote.
The owners told its Facebook followers that Rory’s Irish Pub will take over the space at 454 High St.
Boston.com reached out to Snappy Pattys for comment but did not hear back in time for publication.
